After the launch of 5G mobile services in Delhi, people of Jammu and Kashmir are waiting for launch of 5G mobile services in J&K.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched 5G services in India at a telecom event in Delhi. The service is expected to progressively cover the entire country over the next couple of years.
At the India Mobile Congress in Delhi, the launch for 5G mobile services took place. Airtel said that it will begin rolling out 5G today in eight cities. Jio wants to introduce 5G to few cities first and then by 2023 end it will cover entire country. 5G is the next generation of mobile communication networks, which is supposed to offer much faster speeds and wider use cases than 4G.
Also, PM Modi visited pavilions set up by several telecom operators and technology providers to get a firsthand look at what 5G is capable of. He began at the Reliance Jio stalls, where he saw the ‘True 5G’ devices displayed and experienced the use case through Jio Glass.
13 cities which will get a new service in the first phase of the 5G internet roll-out includes Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. Today, four cities will get the internet. These are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. In Delhi, some areas will receive 5G speeds.
