Kupwara, Nov 04: Gujjar Bakerwal Joint Action Committee (GBJAC) on Friday held “Tribal Bachao March” across Jammu and Kashmir to inform the community against the dilution of Scheduled Tribe status.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Friday, GBJAC Chief spokesperson Talib Hussain announced that during the march which will be held on November 4, the tribal community living in the far flung areas would be made aware about the dilution of ST status.
Protesters said that the GD Sharma Commission report is biased, we reject & demand its Roll Back, also the Chairman NCST should resign immediately from their post, as he is now a puppet working on BJP’s Fingertips.
The Tribal Bachao March started by Activist Guftar Ahmad Chaudhary from Kupwara and Reached Handwara after covering a distance of almost 25Km in a day by foot.
