Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to marry Dr Gurpreet Kaur in Chandigarh today

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will on Thursday marry Dr Gurpreet Kaur in a private ceremony at his residence in Chandigarh. He divorced his first wife in 2015.
Dr Gurpreet Kaur is a physician by profession, who hails from Pehowa in Haryana’s Kurukshetra.

The wedding ceremony of 48-year-old Bhagwant Mann with 1993-born Gurpreet Kaur will be attended by the Punjab CM’s mother, sister, relatives, and a few guests only. Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and his family are also expected to attend the event. Raghav Chadha, a senior leader of the AAP and a Rajya Sabha member, has already arrived in Chandigarh for the event.

Dr Gurpreet Kaur did her MBBS from Maharishi Markandeshwar University at Haryana’s Mullana in 2018.

News agency IANS mentioned sources as saying that Mann’s mother wanted him to get married. According to sources cited by PTI, this is an arranged marriage. The wedding will be conducted according to Sikh rituals.

Mann’s former wife Inderpreet Kaur and their children live in the United States. His daughter Seerat Kaur Mann (21) and son Dilshan Mann (17) travelled to India from the US to attend his swearing-in ceremony on March 16.

Meanwhile, AAP MP Raghav Chadha wished Mann a happy married life.

In response to a Twitter comment “And one thought that Raghav Chadha was the most eligible bachelor in AAP”, Chadha said that “Chhote da number vadde ton baad hi aunda hai. Best wishes to my vadde veer Mann Saab and Dr Gurpreet Kaur for a happy and blessed married life.”
