Principal Secretary Reviews Progress of PM Gati Shakti, DBT Schemes in Ladakh

Leh, November 11: The Principal Secretary, Planning and Revenue Department, Dr. Pawan Kotwal reviewed the progress of PM Gati Shakti, DBT Schemes, and notification under Section 7 of the Aadhar Act at the Civil Secretariat, Leh today.

In the meeting, Principal Secretary was apprised that various beneficiary-oriented subsidy schemes, Social Security Schemes, and Scholarship Schemes in Ladakh are being implemented under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Dr. Kotwal stated that the use of Aadhaar as an identifier for the delivery of services, and benefits, simplifies the delivery processes and brings in good governance, transparency, and efficiency. Further, he said that it enables beneficiaries to get their entitlements directly in a convenient manner. Aadhaar obviates the need for producing multiple documents to prove identity, he added.

Detailed discussions also took place on the progress of the implementation of PM Gati Shakti in Ladakh. Several government officials from various departments in Ladakh have undergone training workshops at the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N). Since revenue records are the basic layer for PM Gati Shakti, digitization of land records in Ladakh is underway.
