KASHMIR: People from all walks of life especially Civil Society groups, Traders, elected PRIs, NGOs participated in peaceful candle march and protested against killing of minority community member Puran Krishan Bhat who was shot dead by terrorists in Shopian.
Several peaceful protests and candle light march incidents were reported from different places of Kashmir which includes Shopian, Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Kulgam, Anantnag, Srinagar. They also expressed solidarity with the family of the deceased.
Earlier on Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the terrorist killing of a Kashmiri Pandit in the Shopian district and assured that the perpetrators will be severely punished.
Puran Krishan Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, succumbed to his injuries after terrorists opened fire at him while he was on his way to an orchard in Shopian on Saturday. The injured was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
