NHM Ladakh started four days long training program under DAKSHATA for Training of Trainers on Technical Update and Skills Standardization for Maternal and Newborn care at Leh today.
Dakshata is an initiative under the National Health Mission to improve the quality of care during the intra- and immediate postpartum period.
The resource persons were provided by Johns Hopkins Program for International Education in Gynecology-India( Jhpiego-India). Jhpiego is a nonprofit organization for international health affiliated with Johns Hopkins University.
The Training is jointly organised by NHM Ladakh and Jhpiego-India.
The training program is exclusively for Gynaecologists, Medical Officers, Nursing Supervisors and Labours room incharges from both the districts of UT Ladakh.
Resource persons invited especially for the training program are Dr. Sunita Dhamija(MD), Senior Gynaecologist from Jhpiego Delhi, Mr. Rohan Sharma, Senior Program Officer Jhpiego and Ms Bhijali, Senior Program Officer, Jhpiego.
A total no. of 20 participants from both the district took part in the training program.
