Lok Sabha member of Parliament Nihal Chand said that the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has agreed to conduct NEET re-exam for students who appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2022) at Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district on July 17.
This year too, the NEET UG 2022 exam was marred with controversy after students alleged English and Hindi exam paper mix-up, photocopied OMR sheets, girls in Kerala asked to remove innerwear and impersonation.
“On July 17, 2022, when the irregularities came to the fore in the NEET 2022 examination held in Sriganganagar (Rajasthan), I met the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya ji and requested to re-conduct this examination keeping in mind the future of the candidates,” the Lok Sabha MP wrote on Twitter.
“Keeping in mind the seriousness of this subject, the (Health) minister has given his consent to re-conduct this examination in Sriganganagar soon. On behalf of the students and their parents, thanks to the minister,” he said.
Medical aspirants who appeared at Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district along with their parents started protesting outside the exam centre immediately after the NEET 2022 exam was concluded. They also took to social media to demand re-exam for the students who missed their exam as they were given the wrong medium paper to attempt India’s single largest medical entrance exam.
The NTA held NEET UG 2022 on July 17, Sunday, from 2pm to 5.20pm. Around 16 lakh students appeared in the NEET UG 2022 exam.
