Mahindra showcased its electric XUV400 a few months ago and has finally put a price tag on the EV today. Prices start at Rs 15.99 lakh for the EC variant while the top-of-the-line EL variant is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh. These introductory prices are only applicable first 5,000 units of each variant.
The Mahinda XUV400 EL is powered by a 39.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery is IP67-rated for water and dust protection. The ARAI-rated range figure is 456 km. The XUV400 EC features a 34.5 kWh battery pack that returns a complete range of 375 km. The smaller battery will be offered with a 3.3kW and 7.2kW charger, while the 39.4kWh variant gets only the 7.2kWh charger.
As for charging the XUV400, the SUV can accept up to 50 kW of DC fast charging which will fill the battery up to 80 per cent in 30 minutes. A 7.2 kW AC charger will top the battery up in 6.5 hours via a regular three-pin socket will do it in 13 hours.
The electric SUV’s 150PS and 310 Nm give it a 0 to 100 kmph time of 8.3s and a 150 kmph top speed.
The XUV400 is based on the XUV300 in terms of design. It has a similar body structure, but the exterior has a few distinctive features. A blanked-off front grille is surrounded by LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. The XUV400’s copper roof, accents, and twin peaks emblem are all distinctive features.
The Mahindra XUV400 interior has an electric sunroof, six airbags, a reverse parking camera with recommendations, driving modes, 60:40 split rear seats, and BlueSense connected car technology. It also has a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
