Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) defeated Haryana and lifted the trophy of the second season of the Sardar Patel National Divyang T20 Cup which culminated here on Sunday. The performance of Aamir Hassan of J&K was outstanding and he was named man of the match for scoring 29 in a low-scoring match and also taking three wickets. J&K’s Wasim Iqbal was adjudged the Man of the Series for his great all-round performance.
Anuj of Haryana was adjudged the Best Batsman, while S Prashanth of Hyderabad was Best Bowler of the tournament.
The final scores were – J&K at 87/10 in 16.2 overs, while Haryana made 71 /10 in 18.3 overs. J&K beat Haryana by 16 runs.
Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak handed over the trophy to winners. Nearly 400 players and officials from 20 different states participated in the tournament.
Pathak said Divyang T20 Cup should be held every year. He also urged that the Sheesh Mahal Trophy, which was considered at par with the Ranji Trophy in UP, should be revived. It will provide more opportunities to players and will even pave the way for their selections in the nationalcricket team. The deputy CM also assured full support for the revival of Sheesh Mahal tournament. He also assured complete government support for the welfare of disabled sportspersons. (TOI)
