India vice-captain KL Rahul continued his horror run in ICC knockout matches as Chris Woakes dismissed the opener for only 5 in the second T20 World Cup semi-final in Adelaide on Thursday. This was Rahul’s second appearance in a World Cup semi-finals and he failed to click once again. Earlier, Rahul was out for 1 in the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand.
After England won the toss and opted to field, Rahul started well with a boundary from Ben Stokes’s first delivery and looked in good nick. Woakes, who came to bowl the second over, drew the first blood for England as Rahul looked to cut but the ball took the outside edge and Jos Buttler did not make any mistake behind the stumps. Rahul was done by the extra bounce at Adelaide Oval.
