3 mutton shops, one poultry shop sealed; Rs 41,300 collected as fine in Kashmir

Following complaints against mutton sellers regarding overcharging, a special drive was today launched during which 507 business establishments were inspected and a penal sum of Rs 41300 was collected as fine from 102 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 besides, 03 mutton shops and 01 poultry shop was also sealed.

Meanwhile, during the current financial year, an amount of Rs 5833700 has been collected as fine from 12440 erring traders in the valley. Besides, 189 establishments have also been sealed and police complaints against 12 erring traders were also lodged.

Moreover, the erring lot has been reprimanded to remain careful in future. The drive will continue in the same passion in future as well & whosoever found violating the norms will be brought to justice.
