GATE 2022 Result: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 result will be declared on Thursday, March 17, 2022. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will announce the GATE 2O22 result on the official website– gate.itkgp.ac.in.

The GATE scorecards will be available for downloading on March 21. IIT Kharagpur is also expected to published the final answer key for GATE exam on the result day.

Here’s the formula to calculate the GATE score using the answer key

GATE score = total marks secured for correct response – negative marks for wrong response.

Candidates must note that only the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) will have a negative marking. There will be no negative marking in the Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The MCQ are of both one mark and two marks. For each incorrect answer to a one-marker question, one-third marks will be deducted and for each incorrect answer to a two-marker question two-third marks will be deducted. The NAT questions are of both one mark and two marks.

IIT Kharagpur will be announcing the GATE 2022 Results on March 17, 2022. Students who have appeared for the GATE 2022 exams will be eagerly awaiting the declaration of the GATE 2022 exams. The GATE 2022 exams were conducted on February 12 and 12, 2022.

How will the GATE 2022 Scores be calculated?

As and when the evaluation of the answers is completed, the conducting body will take into consideration the raw marks obtained by the students to determine the GATE 2022 Score.

In the case of the multi-session papers, the raw marks of the different sessions will be converted in order to normalize the marks for the subjects by which the raw marks for the single session papers or the normalized marks for the multi-session papers will be used as the GATE 2022 scores.

GATE 2022 Score Card validity

Candidates who qualify for the GATE 2022 exams will be eligible to download the scorecard through the link available on the official website. To download the GATE 2022 scorecard students need to visit the official website and enter the login details in the link. The link to download the scorecard will be available from March 21, 2022. 

As per the details provided, the GATE 2022 scorecard for the M.Tech admissions will be valid until three years from the date of declaration of the GATE Results. It must however be noted that the validity may not apply for PSU recruitment unless it states otherwise.

GATE 2022 Answer Key Direct Link

With the GATE 2022 Answer Key Released, the Exam conducting institute has also opened the objection window for the PG Engineering entrance exam from today. The GATE  Answer Key Objection Window 2022 will open from 22nd February and will be valid until 24th February 2022. During this period, any candidate who has found any concerns or errors in the answer key can raise a challenge or objection against the key. The detailed procedure for raising the objection against the answer key of GATE 2022 is shared below:

  • Step 1: Log onto the GOAPS portal – gate.iitkgp.ac.in
  • Step 2: Find and click on Link for Candidate Login- GOAPS Page
  • Step 3: Enter your login credential to enter the portal
  • Step 4: Locate and click on link for ‘Contest Answer Key’ Option
  • Step 5: Select the question against which you want to raise challenge
  • Step 6: Enter the justification or proof for challenge
  • Step 7: Pay the requisite application fee to raise challenge
  • Step 8: Attach required documents and submit 

How to Calculate GATE Score: Marking Scheme

As per the marking scheme provided for GATE 2022, each question will carry 1 mark and 2 marks respectively. There were a total of 65 questions for 100 marks of which 15 marks were for the GA section and 85 marks were for the Subject questions. Negative marking will also be applicable for each incorrect answer. For the 1 mark questions, 1/3 marks will be deducted for the wrong answers while for the 2 mark questions 2/3 marks will be deducted.

The GATE 2022 answer keys will be released on February 21, while the candidates’ response sheets will be made available on the gate.iitkgp.ac.in on February 15.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) administering body — Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur — has announced the answer key date. The GATE 2022 answer keys will be released on February 21, while the candidates’ response sheets will be made available on the gate.iitkgp.ac.in on February 15. Also candidates will be allowed to raise objections on the answer key between February 22 and February 25. The GATE 2022 result will be announced on March 17 and scorecards will be made available on March 21.

IIT Kharagpur had concluded the first and second day of GATE 2022 on February 5 and February 6. GATE 2022 will continue till February 13. IIT Kharagpur is conducting the recruitment-cum-admission test for Engineering graduates in two slots — 9 am to 12 noon, and 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm for different papers.

How to Download GATE 2022 Answer Keys

  1. Log on to the GATE 2022 website — gate.iitkgp.ac.in
  2. Login GATE 2022 enrollment id and password or email id and password.
  3. Login and click on the ‘View Answer Key’ tab.
  4. The GATE 2022 answer key will appear on the screen in PDF format.
  5. Download the GATE answer sheet 2022

As per the GATE 2022 paper pattern, the question paper will be of objective type comprising three patterns of questions — multiple choice questions (MCQs), multiple select questions (MSQs), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. For every wrong answer marked in an MCQ, negative marks will be cut, while for MSQs and NATs, there will be no negative marking for a wrong answer.

Each GATE 2022 paper is for a total of 100 marks, General Aptitude (GA) is common for all papers (15 marks) and rest of the paper covers the respective syllabus (85 marks).
