NEET 2022: How to Prepare for NEET UG aside of Board exams 1

NTA NEET UG 2022:  This year, the NTA is yet to release the exam date, however, it is expected that it will be conducted soon after the CBSE and ISC board exams. Many students will be appearing for the board exam and NEET UG simultaneously. Both the exams are stepping stones and candidates need to score good marks in the board exams as well as get a good rank in the NEET UG entrance exam 2022. Balancing between the board and NEET 2022 exam preparations is not an easy task.

Candidates must know how to manage their preparation for both exams. Therefore, here we have provided preparation tips for NEET-UG along with class 12th board exams below. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc, and AH degree programmes.

Prepare for NEET UG along with Board Exams

With a limited number of seats and fierce competition, it becomes essential for candidates to come up with the best NEET preparation strategy for NEET 2022. However, board exams are no less important. Therefore, it is necessary for the candidates preparing for both NEET and class 12 board examinations to know how to prepare efficiently for both exams. Go through the points to know how to prepare for NEET 2022 along with the class 12 board exam here –

Know What To Study and Where To Focus

Getting admission into a medical course is not easy, hence, candidates appearing for this medical entrances test must focus on NEET preparation. However, they must have also secured the prescribed marks in class 12th to be eligible for admission in medical college. So, the focus must also be on class 12 boards. The candidates must ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the basics of both the exam, a method that will help in preparation for NEET as well as the Board exam. It is recommended that students should start their preparation soon.

Managing Syllabus of NEET and Board Exam

The syllabus of Class 12 boards and NEET examination is the same for the core subjects, that is, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, the NEET syllabus comprises both the class 11 and 12 NCERT curriculum while that of the board exam includes only the part being studied in class 12. Students should start preparing in advance, i.e. from Class 11 onwards for NEET and while preparing for the board, they are ultimately preparing the class 12th syllabus for NEET.

NCERT Books for Class 12th Board Exams and NEET

To balance class 12th and NEET preparation, candidates must go through the NCERT books. These books will help candidates with the class 12 board along with NEET preparation. Having the same study material will save both time and effort. Many experts and toppers also suggest the same. NEET aspirants, however, are also required to have a proper understanding of the class 11th NCERT and can also refer to best books for NEET.

Prepare Study Plan

Those willing to balance board and NEET preparations will need to prepare a study schedule that includes time for regular classes and self-study. Candidates also need to put in effort in terms of studying for both exams. Prepare two timetables, one that focuses on class 12th boards and the other on NEET preparation. They can switch between the two according to the upcoming important event.

Practice for Self-Analysis

To prepare for class 12th board exams and NEET 2022, students can solve the previous year’s question papers. For class 12th, theory-based papers uploaded by CBSE is available, along with sample papers whereas for NEET they can solve previous year’s papers. So, every day, they can solve one theory paper and one MCQ-based paper. With this, they will also get to know about their preparation level for both examinations.

UPSC, JEE Main, NEET, NDA or CDS! Which is The Toughest Exam of India?

UPSC, JEE Main, NEET, NDA or CDS! Which is The Toughest Exam of India? 6

In India, various competitive exams like UPSC Civil Services, National Defence Services (NDA), UPSC CDS, NEET, JEE etc are conducted every year at various levels of the student’s life. While NEET and JEE are conducted after school level, NDA, IBPS, SSC, UPSC CSE etc are conducted for providing jobs in various Government sectors. In all these UPSC Civil Services Exam is considered the toughest of all. Know the reason why and what makes UPSC so different and tougher from other exams.

Although exams like JEE and NEET are considered at a higher level than the normal student of class 12th can attempt but they still cannot be considered the toughest due to a limited syllabus and the kind of consequences of the exam- Getting admission in a college to become a doctor or an engineer. However, UPSC Exam has a different angle altogether. These land you into administrative services in an Indian city/ town or geographical location.

Many people consider the IAS exam the toughest exam. This is because there is a very low passing rate. The exam requires an extreme level of preparation and struggle. Take a look below at the reasons for UPSC CSE being considered the toughest exam in India.

  • Long Overhauling Syllabus: UPSC Civil Services Exam has the longest syllabus of all the exams. The Prelims overall covers everything from Current Affairs to Art and Culture, History, Geography, Science, Maths, English etc. The candidates who appear for the exam must be all prepared with these subjects to attempt it. The length of the syllabus is extremely overwhelming.
  • Number of Attempts: Any exam is made tougher by making it unachievable after a certain age. The same is the case with UPSC. General category students have just 6 attempts for the exam before they become 32 years of age. The other categories have 2-4 extra attempts and years for the same. However, seeing the syllabus and the candidates appearing for the exam, one cannot say these attempts are enough.
  • Candidates vs Posts: This is a very small ratio in the case of UPSC Exams. Lakhs of candidates appear for less than 1000 posts across the country out of which the top 200 only get the Grade A service posts. The candidates are many and out of those, the competition is also heavy. However, the posts are so less that people find it difficult to achieve.
  • Number of Exams: There is a total of 3 exams that one has to pass to become an IAS officer in India. The first one is UPSC CSE Prelims- after passing of which one gets to appear for UPSC CSE Mains and after clearing that the candidate gets to appear for UPSC CSE Personality Test or Interview. All three exams have equal difficulty levels and are attempted by very qualified aspirants.
  • Uncertainty: Not a single person can say wholeheartedly that he/she would clear UPSC Exam in one year. It is just not possible. Consistency is the key to UPSC. While many qualified and deserving candidates are left behind, those who have been consistent are the ones who qualify in one attempt. People flunk their papers in the successive exams even after passing Prelims with flying colours. Moreover, failing even one of the exams, one has to re-prepare for the next year. There is no middle ground.

Aspirants who wish to appear for UPSC CSE sometimes fail as no proper resources are available to them. However, it has been seen in recent years that people have developed a great interest in these services and prepare from their childhood for the same. The example of the Dabi sisters is supportive enough for this condition.

So one may say that UPSC CSE is the toughest exam in the country, but what comes next is even tougher. Thus to prepare the candidates for such rigorous services, one has to go through a thin filter/ mesh which is called UPSC Civil Services Exam.

NEET 2022: NMC removes fixed upper age limit for all categories

NEET 2022: NMC removes fixed upper age limit for all categories 8

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will not have any upper age limit anymore. Anyone irrespective of their age will be eligible to apply for the medical entrance exam from NEET 2022 onwards. This decision was taken in the meeting held between the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the National Medical Council (NMC) held on October 21.

Earlier, the upper age limit to apply to become a doctor was 25 years for the unreserved category, and for students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwBD Candidates, it was relaxed further by five years.

Now, irrespective of the category, students who have completed their class 12 level of education in physics, chemistry, and biology will be eligible to apply for the medical entrance exam.

Every year, about 15 lakh students appear for NEET, with his relaxation the number of students applying for the entrance exam is expected to go up. This might increase the competition for the medical colleges which already have a limited number of seats.

The NTA will reflect the new rules in NEET 2022 information brochure. The brochure along with the notification and application process will be issued at the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The medical entrance exam is scheduled to be held in June this year. The exact dates are not out yet.

NEET 2022 EXAM PATTERN TO CHANGE TOO

Apart from the age criteria, the NEET 2022 is likely to have a new exam pattern too. Just like NEET 2021, NEET 2022 will have two sections — the first section will consist of 35 questions and the second section will have 15 questions. Out of the 15 questions in the second section, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 questions. All the questions will be in a multiple-choice question (MCQ) pattern.
