Documents Required during Class IV verification process

All such candidates who were provisionally shortlisted for District Cadre
Posts of Class IV in various Departments of J&K are hereby informed to appear for Document Verification before the designated Document Verification Committee(s) as per the date and venue showed against each, at 10.30 AM sharp. (Exact dates for document verification will be issued very soon).

The said candidates are required to appear before the Document Verification
A committee with the following documents in original, and

  • Copy of Online Application form.
  • D.O.B Certificate.
  • Reservation category certificate, if applicable.
  • Domicile Certificate.
  • Discharge Certificate, along with PPO number and Ex-Serviceman Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Certificate issued by the Competent Authority,
  • Other documents as per the advertisement.
  • Bonafide certificate on the format prescribed by the Board duly issued by the Controller /Principal of the concerned school in respect of candidates, who have obtained degrees from the school/board outside the State of J&K.

The candidates has to produce an Online Application Form as well as original documents together with a self-attested photocopy of each document/ certificate on the day of document verification.

About Exam:

Candidates who applied for the Vacancies of Class- IV Posts announced by the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) gave their Exam successfully. The Exam was of Objective Type and it consists of Multiple Choices Questions (MCQ) only, the exam was conducted for the Maximum of 100 Marks and the time allowed for this Exam was of 2 hours, and there was a negative marking of 0.25 marks.

Qualifications required for JKSSB Class 4 Posts

Class-IV: Matric and 10+2 Pass, candidates who has successfully passed their 10th(Matric) or 10+2 from any recognized board is eligible for Class-IV posts.

Candidates Possessing above qualifications than 12th are not eligible for the said class iv posts.

After verification of documents all those students with above qualifications, their nomination for the pots will be rejected.

Whereas only qualified candidates with 10th as minimum and 12th as maximum qualification will get the Job Letter by JKSSB.

Graduates eligible or not eligible for class IV posts

JKSSB Advertises 8575 Class 4th Vacancies on 26.6.2020 for UT, Division, District

and has kept minimum 10th and maximum 12th qualifications for these 8575 posts.

Thousands of Graduates have applied for Class IV posts even knowing the fact that eligibility criteria is 10th and 10+2.

Meanwhile a Group a graduates association challenged the eligibility criteria in J&K High Court after filing a petition.

Also, JKSSB has clearly mentioned that Any candidate having his/her qualification other than prescribed shall not be eligible for Class IV posts.

In the latest interview given to Media personals JKSSB chairman Khalid Jahangir has clearly said:

That any Student having Above qualification than 12th will not get job.

Furthermore JKSSB will make sure that these candidates will get verified at the time of counselling.

Qualification Required / Eligibility for JKSSB Junior Assistant Posts

Graduate from recognized University having a minimum speed of 35 words per minute in type writing only from a Govt. recognized Institute.

The candidates who are declared qualified by the JKSSB Board for Document Verification will be required to produce relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificates, etc. Graduation Degree in original as proof of having acquired the prescribed educational qualification on or before the cutoff date fixed for filling the online application form.

Procedure for filling Online Application

  1. Candidates are required to apply online through JKSSB’s online Application Portal-https://ssbjk.org.in No other means/ mode of application will be accepted.
  2. The Candidates who have not registered earlier on the portal are first required to go to the said Portal and register themselves by clicking on the “Candidate Registration” link.
  3. Candidates are required to have a valid Email ID and Mobile Number for registering and creating login credentials. The same shall be validated using OTP (One Time Password) based verification.
  4. After creating login credentials, candidates need to log in with these credentials by clicking on “Candidate Login”. Candidate can update their information like mobile number, email id, and password from time to time, but cannot change their First Name, Last Name, and Gender.
  5. Once successful Login, the candidate can check under “Latest Openings” for all available advertisements and click on “Apply Now” against “Application Form for Appointment to the Post applied.”
  6. The candidate should carefully fill in all the information in various sections and click on “SAVE & CONTINUE”.

Graduates demand change in eligibility for Class IV posts

Five days after the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board declared results for 8,575 Class IV posts, aspirants across J&K are still in confusion as maximum qualification for the posts has been fixed up to 12th standard only.

scores of graduates from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir are expressing their resentment against the authorities as the admin has fixed maximum eligibility as 12th standard while leaving thousands of degree holders midway.

As per the aggrieved aspirants, both graduates and degree holders have had applied for Class IV posts and the irony is that they are being excluded from the further class IV Recruitment process.

Bisma Ayoob, a job aspirant from Baramulla said in view of the higher unemployment rate in J&K, the government should change their criteria to maximum graduation level.

There should be clarification from the administration regarding these things, she said

“There is the unemployment rate at its peak in Jammu and Kashmir and now the government has done another disaster by mentioning maximum qualification as Class 12th” Bisma said.

“We are duped by the government and it is done just to vote bank politics. Government should come forward with a clear vision of eligibility criteria so that our hard work will not go in vain,” she said

The aggrieved aspirants threatened on social media that they will start protests in both Jammu and Srinagar, if criteria would not be changed for these posts and they also stated that they would be approaching the court for the same.

Chairman JKSSB, Khalid Jahangir said that the qualification criteria for the Class IV advertisement are prescribed by the government and JKSSB is merely a recruiting agency.

“Recruitment rules are framed by the government and the Board is merely a recruiting body. We have to advertise the same criteria and we cannot modify them,” he said.

Another official at JKSSB said that from past five days, they have received thousands of distressed calls from the aspirants but we are helpless at our end.

“The minimum qualification for these posts is 10th and maximum qualification is 12th standard. But in future, aspirants cannot claim for the higher post as per his/her qualification so at the end our degrees became useless,” she said.

Earlier on June 26, Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) published a recruitment notice for over 8,000 Class IV posts on its official website.

There are different numbers of vacancies available for different districts with 463 posts for UT cadre, 1616 for Divisional Cadre Kashmir.

Who could Apply?

The candidate should be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir in accordance with Notifications
issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The candidate must possess the Domicile Certificate issued by the competent Authority in the format prescribed for the purpose at
the time of Document Verification

Selection Process for JKSSB PAA

  1. The overall merit of the candidate shall be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the written test.
    The Services Selection Board shall make allocation of the District Cadre in favor of successful candidates on the basis of the merit cum-preference method.
  2. Meanwhile, The candidates shall be called to indicate their preferences for District Cadre either in the online application form or at a later stage, as shall be deemed appropriate by the Board.
  3. Furthermore, Based on the preferences given by the respective candidates and in accordance with the merit obtained by them, the Board shall notify the allocation of Cadre, in favor of successful candidates.
  4. The allocation of District Cadre, once notified by the Services Selection Board shall be final and binding and no representation/request for change in this regard shall be entertained, whatsoever may be the reason.
  5. Also, In case a candidate does not indicate his/her preference (fully or partially) as and when asked by the Board, he/she shall be deemed to have agreed to the Cadre allocation as shall be done, by the SSB, and the decision of the Board in this regard shall be final and binding.
