The academic buzz is in the air as the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) prepares for its annual 2024 regular examinations. In both hard and soft zones across the region, students of secondary and higher secondary classes are gearing up for a significant academic milestone. The board has recently unfurled the much-anticipated academic calendar for the 2023-2024 academic session, offering a glimpse into the roadmap for the upcoming year.
JKBOSE Key Dates Announcement
The Director of Academics in JKBOSE has officially announced the crucial dates. For class 12th students in soft and hard zones of J&K, the process for submission of examination forms is scheduled to commence from the third week of November. The action for class 10th students will kick off in the first week of December, and for 11th graders, it’s the third week of December.
JKBOSE 10Th, 12Th Examination Schedule
For students in soft zone areas, the much-anticipated class 12th examinations are set to commence from the first week of March. Following closely are the examinations for class 10th in the second week of March and for class 11th students in the last week of March.
JKBOSE Result Declaration
As per the academic calendar, the results for class 12th examinations in soft zones will be declared in the second week of June. Simultaneously, the results for class 10th will be announced in the third week, and for 11th examinations, it will be the last week of June. The hard zone areas present unique challenges. Here, the annual regular 2024 examinations for class 10th and 12th students will commence in the second week of April. Class 11th examinations will take place in the last week of the same month. The results for these hard zones will be declared in the second, third, and last week of June.
Schools Distribution in Hard Zones
Understanding the challenges, JKBOSE has identified approximately 444 schools located in these hard-to-reach areas. In the Jammu division, schools in hard zones are spread across regions including Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, and Udhampur. In the Kashmir division, districts like Anantnag, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kulgam, and Budgam are home to several schools in these challenging zones. Additionally, seven zones within the Kargil district and the entire Ladakh region are classified as hard zones.
