In a significant development for aspiring medical students in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has recently released the Provisional Merit List for Ayush (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) and BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) courses for the year 2023. This announcement is in accordance with Notification No. 076-BOPEE of 2023, which was issued on 2nd September 2023.
The Provisional Merit List includes the names of candidates who have registered for counseling for Ayush and BPT courses for the academic year 2023. These seats are available in both Government and Private Colleges, including those under the All India Quota. The allocation of seats will be based on the NEET Rank/Score of the candidates.
Candidates who have registered for NEET-UG courses for 2023 are also included in this list. The Provisional Merit List is accessible on the official website of JKBOPEE (www.jkbopee.gov.in) and can be referred to for any objections regarding placement or category status.
Candidates who have any objections regarding their position, credentials, or category status are urged to submit their representations physically at the BOPEE offices in Jammu or Srinagar, but this must be done before the start of the counseling, up to 03:00 p.m. failing which, no claims will be entertained.
The Online Counseling process for filling up the Ayush/Unani/BPT seats, including All India Quota seats, for the academic session 2023, is scheduled to take place from 22nd September 2023 to 25th September 2023 (Midnight).
It is imperative for candidates to have uploaded essential documents such as their Domicile certificates, 12th Class Marks Card, or Date of Birth certificate. Failing to do so will result in their disqualification from the counseling process, and if a seat is allotted to them, they must provide these documents at the time of admission.
Candidates who have specified their category during the online registration will be considered for the online counseling process, and seats will be allocated to them based on the category mentioned in their application form.
For candidates registering afresh, there is an online counseling fee of Rs. 1500/- that must be paid during the online counseling process. They must also take a printout of their application form to ensure that the fee of Rs. 1500/- is reflected on the printed form after submitting and locking the preference form.
Candidates who have previously participated in the counseling process for MBBS/BDS courses do not need to pay the counseling fee again. However, if they are interested in Ayush/Unani/BPT courses, they must fill out a fresh online preference/choices form.
It’s important to note that the reservation policy of UT of Jammu and Kashmir applies only to Government Ayurveda/Government Unani Colleges.
Candidates are strongly advised to thoroughly review the instructions contained in the e-Information Brochure for submitting the online preference forms. Once preferences are locked, modifications can only be made with permission from the Board.
The Tentative Seat Matrix will be made available on the BOPEE website (www.jkbopee.gov.in) before the start of counseling. Any changes deemed necessary by the Board will be reflected in this matrix.
Additionally, the Board will conduct a 2nd Round of physical counseling for filling seats under the All India Quota (15%) and Management Quota (MQ) in Private Ayurveda/Unani Colleges of J&K, based on NEET Merit-cum-Preferences. A separate notice will be issued for this.
Candidates are advised to check the admission fees for their chosen courses at respective colleges before applying or offering preferences.
Seats under the BPT program in Composite Regional Center (CRC) Bernina, Srinagar, and Jammu College of Physiotherapy (JCP), Jammu will also be filled during this round of counseling.
To stay updated with day-to-day developments and announcements, candidates are encouraged to visit the BOPEE website (www.jkbopee.gov.in) regularly.
